Video Interview With Kelly Milner Halls and *BOOK PACKAGE Give Away!
Kelly Milner Halls sat down and talked with me about her process of writing both non-fiction and fiction books. She also shared her great news, CONGRATS KELLY! And we had some great laughs over Darth Vader and cat hairballs too.
The drawing is closed, we have a winner! Congratulations to Pamela Ross who’s name was pulled from the pewter trophy bowl!! Thanks to everyone who watched and participated! *Kelly also is generous with the give-aways. She has a BOOK PACKAGE that she’s put together for you that I’m going to be drawing a name randomly for. Leave a comment on this post between today and November 2, 2010 midnight-my time here in Arizona, to be put in for the drawing. This offer is only available to people in the continental United States and people who are not relatives or close friends…..sorry mom. I will announce the winner sometime on November 3rd. Please make sure you’ve left a way for me to get in touch with you or you won’t be eligible despite your location or DNA status.
Sorry, the drawing is closed.
What a smart conversation!
Going to go hit the library and read me some Kelly…
Congrats to Kelly, and Angela, keep doing these interviews. I really enjoy them.
Great interview–I enjoyed listening!
I know, Kelly is fun and smart, isn’t she?
Thanks Marge.
Thank you Terri! I’m having a great time doing them.
Thanks for commenting Buffy!
I enjoyed this conversation with Kelly Milner Halls, Angela, although I was glad I could not hear the sound effect of the cat hacking up a hairball.
I need to go check out Kelly’s books–fascinated about how to write nonfiction about creatures what may or may not exist–and interested in how she goes about doing research, too.
Skype on!
Where else are you going to learn those sort of facts about red nose reindeers? Only with Angela Fox . . .
If you’re listening for it you can hear it, at least once, in the segment right before I mention it.
Kelly is amazing, I love her books!
Kelly brought up the red-nosed reindeer…okay, to be exact, Jan Brett brought up the red-nosed reindeer.
And if we’re looking for drug discussions and Lady Gaga marketing tips, we only need to look as far as YOU! 😉
Thanks for sharing this fabulous interview, Angela. I’m such a fan of Kelly and enjoy reading her thoughts online. It was a joy to hear her voice for the first time. It reeks of fun and curiousity– just like her books.
Congratulations on becoming agented with Jill Corcoran and double-dipped mazel tovs for selling the YA anthology. That book sounds amazing and it’s no wonder it was snapped up and sold faster than a speeding e-mail.
Glad I stopped by to listen and learn… although I’m not so sure I will ever think of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer in quite the same way ever again.
Such a great interview.
I can’t wait to read Kelly’s anthology, GIRL MEETS BOY. Some real heavyweights of YA are represented like Chris Crutcher, Cynthia Leitich Smith, and Kelly herself. I’m proud to say that Kelly and I share the same agent, the amazing Jill Corcoran.
I had no idea she has a Bigfoot book coming out. That’s on my to-read list now.
Wow! Thank you for sharing such a fabulous interview.
I’m so happy you stopped by too! Thanks for your sweet words and I hope you’ll be back.
Rudolph the placenta-nosed reindeer just doesn’t sound as good, does it?
Thanks Brent, I agree-I can’t wait to read her anthology either!
Congrats on being repped by JC too.
Natisha, thanks for stopping by!
I’m so happy I could fly without wings, antlers, or even placenta!
Thank you, thank you, and thank you.
Thank you, Angela. Thank you, Kelly. You make me feel like dancing on air.
Your humble and obedient lead reindeer,
Pamela Ross, a little worried now to admit in public that my favorite color truly IS red. ;>
You should never leave home without your placenta.
Thank you Pamela!
And a super special thanks to Kelly for being such a smart writer and being so generous with herself in the video and offering such a tremendous give-away!
